We would like to inform you that our company has established research cooperation with the Laboratory of Virology at the Department of Immunology of Infectious Diseases, Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy, Ludwik Hirszfeld Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences. As part of the cooperation, thorough tests of the antiviral activity of one of the colloids produced by us will be carried out. The research will include the estimation of the cytotoxicity of silver particles in relation to the cell line used, determination of the influence of nanoparticles on the replication cycle of the virus (susceptibility of cells to infection, to virus adsorption and penetration, and to their replication). The β-coronavirus HCoV-OC43, which belongs to the same family as the 2019-nCoV virus, the culprit of the current epidemiological situation (COVID-19), will be used for the research.
We hope that cooperation with the Institute of Hirszfeld will allow us to deepen our knowledge about the biocidal activity of the colloids we produce, and to actively join the fight against the prevailing pandemic.
